Questions owners ask before handing over

These are the questions Victoria owners ask most before handing their marketing to someone else, answered plainly. If yours is missing, call, text or email and ask it directly.

This page collects the questions Greater Victoria owners ask most before they hand their marketing over. The short version: you own everything, you can leave with 30 days' notice, you get one plain report a month, and we never promise results nobody can control.

The answers above cover price, contracts, timelines, ownership and what happens after a bad agency experience. Below is some context that does not fit in a two-line answer.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between Victoria.Team and a normal agency?

A typical agency advises and runs one or two channels while you coordinate the rest. Victoria.Team takes the whole marketing job: accounts, ads, content, lead follow-up and reporting. Your part is a few minutes a week and one short monthly call.

How much does it cost?

Growth is $1,999 a month month to month, or $1,499 a month on annual billing. Elite is $3,999 or $2,999, and Enterprise is $7,999 or $5,999. Canadian clients add 5% GST, and ad spend is paid directly to the platforms.

Am I locked into a contract?

No. Every plan runs month to month, and 30 days' notice ends it. Annual billing is optional and simply lowers the monthly price.

How long before I see results?

The takeover takes about 30 days. Paid campaigns often produce tracked leads within the first few weeks after that, while content and search visibility build over three to six months. We will not promise a date for rankings.

We tried an agency before and it went badly. Why is this different?

Common complaints are lost logins, vague reports and long contracts. We put every account in your name, report on one page in plain numbers, and run month to month. If the work is not paying off, you can leave with everything.

Who owns my website and accounts?

You do. Your domain, website, Google Business Profile, ad accounts and analytics are registered to your business, and we are added as users. Leaving means removing our access, nothing more.

How much of my time does this need?

About an hour to hand things over, a few minutes a week sending job photos or a quick update, and around 20 to 30 minutes a month for the brief and call.

Can you promise a number of leads or a ranking?

No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. We agree targets, set a baseline, report honestly against it and change course when something is not working.

What kind of businesses do you work with?

Trades, home-service firms and independent local businesses across Greater Victoria, such as plumbers, electricians, roofers, landscapers, renovators, cleaners, clinics, studios and shops.

Are you a contractor?

No. We are a digital marketing and business consulting service. We do not install, repair or service anything; we market the businesses that do.

Do you have a Victoria office?

No. The group is headquartered in Vancouver, BC, and capital-region owners meet us in person or by video call, or work with us by call, text, email and screen share.

Do you write fake reviews or buy followers?

Never. We set up a routine for asking real customers for reviews and draft replies for your approval. Fake reviews break the review platforms' own rules, and no short-term bump is worth that risk to your name.

Is done-for-you right for every business?

No. It suits owners whose time is better spent on the work, the customers or the crew than on marketing tasks. It suits them less if they enjoy marketing, have a capable staff member who wants to run it, or have so little work capacity that more leads would only frustrate customers.

A quick test: if you could take on 20% more work next month without hiring, and you spend more than two hours a week on marketing you resent, a hand-off is worth a conversation. Our guide on what to hand off and what to keep goes through the decision step by step.

What happens in the first month?

The first month is the marketing takeover. We collect access to every account, fix tracking, clean up duplicates and move ownership into your name. You get the first one-page brief at the end of it, with a baseline and a plan for the next 60 days.

The first 90 days guide explains what usually happens week by week, including the parts that are slower than owners expect.

What do you need from me to make this work?

Four things, all small:

  1. Access invitations accepted when we send them.
  2. Photos and a two-line note from a few good jobs each month.
  3. A text when you are booked up, short-staffed or away.
  4. A rough count each month of which leads became paid work.

That last one matters more than owners think. Without it, we can only optimise for inquiries, not for profitable jobs.

What if I want to stop?

Give 30 days' notice. Because every account is already in your name, you keep the website, profile, ad history and analytics. We will remove our own access and, if you ask, leave a short handover note so whoever comes next knows what is running and why.

Why do you report on one page instead of a dashboard?

Because dashboards get ignored. A reporting login is easy to hand out and easy to never open again, especially at the end of a long day on site. A one-page owner brief forces us to choose the numbers that matter and explain them in a sentence, and it lands where you already look.

You still have full access to every platform, since each account is in your name. If you or your bookkeeper want the raw data, ask and we will send it, or walk you through where to find it.

How do you handle the seasons in Greater Victoria?

We plan around them rather than reacting. Many trades and local businesses in the region have a predictable rhythm: exterior and yard work building in spring, visitor-driven trade in summer for some retail and food businesses, and rain-related work through the wet months. We set budgets and content ahead of each shift and ask you each month whether your calendar matches what we expected.

If you are fully booked, we pull ad spend back. If a slow month is coming, we plan for it in advance instead of panicking in week three. The areas page has more on how the region's parts differ.

Still have a question?

Ask it directly. Call, text or email; the contact page explains what to include so we can give you a useful answer the first time. You can also check the pricing page for plan details, or the about page for who is behind Victoria.Team.
